Roger Payne has had many years enjoying the crags and mountains as a mountain guide.  He passed the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC) in 1982 and qualified as an international mountain guide (IFMGA) in 1983.  He is a member of the Swiss and British mountain guide associations (AVGM and BMG), and in 2007 was elected President of the British mountain guides.  He is also an avalanche instructor (AIARE) and held coaching qualifications for orienteering, sailing, white water and sea canoeing.

 

Payne offers courses and private guiding in rock, ice and alpine climbing, expeditions, avalanche awareness, off-piste skiing and ski touring.  More information about his guiding services is at:
